What is the bot service?
WoW Guru provides a simple and easy way for IRC channels to search our online database. Letting you lookup items, spells, characters, realm status, as well as keeping your channel up-to-date with the latest happenings in the World of Warcraft.
Bot Commands

- !news - reports the latest news headline
- !mit [armor] (level) - calculates mitigation percentage with armor at level, default level is 60
- Database Search
- !item [item name] - reports stats on the requested item

Can I change how it works?
Yes! The bot has a few options currently which can be configured by channel ops:
- @!trigger [trigger] - defaults to ! - !command
- @!cooldown [5] - defaults to 5 - time between database requests to prevent spamming
- @!response [private|public] - defaults to public, private uses /notice to send the user search results
- @!realm [realm] - changes the realm for the channel
- @!lang [de|fr|en] - changes the database language
- @!locale [eu|us] - changes the localization, europe or us
- @!status [on|off] - can be used to turn off public commands
As always if you have any suggestions for additional configurability just let us know.
How do I get the bot in my channel?
To request the bot be added to your IRC channel, first check over the following guidelines:
- Your channel contains, at minimum an average of 40 users
- Your channel is directly related to World of Warcraft
- You own the channel or have permission to request the bot for it
If you answered yes to all of the above, then head on over to our contact form and fill out the form with the IRC channel and the network its located on.
* We may refuse requests for any reason or no reason at all
