Hi there,
I’m a finalist studying at the University of Leeds in the UK and am doing some research on audiences. Most of my uni work is pretty boring but this is a fairly sweet exercise as I get to read academic articles about why games are amazing. I’m a fairly avid gamer myself and wondered if it would be possible for some people to fill out a quick questionnaire on this forum. It only has a few questions but it’ll help me out a lot if a few people can answer it. The answers might even be of interest to everyone else and if anyone is really interested then I can email them the finished essay. I’m comparing the answers from this survey with some I’m getting from a WoW forum. If anyone has any questions please drop me an email at matt_returns@hotmail.com.
1) How often do you play games? Is it to relax or as entertainment?
2) Do you prefer games to other media such as film or TV – do you feel more active whilst playing a game?
3) Do you think that you can control the course a game takes? Is it interactive?
4) Do you feel like an audience member or a participant in the event?
5) How old are you?
Just the five questions – as I said any answers would be great!
Thanks for your help,
Matt
