Even though it takes longer to clear the trash up to Lurker than it does to Hydross, many guilds attempt Lurker first because he's easier. There are a few things you need to know if you want to try him.

- The fight will alternate between two phases on a timer. In the first phase, the Lurker surfaces in a little pool of water, where he is tanked. He has knockback abilities and something called Spout, which he will use on a timer. When he Spouts he slowly spins 360 degrees while spitting a beam of water outwards, doing a knockback and a lot of damage to anyone who gets hit by it. You can avoid it by jumping into the water; it'll pass over your head.

- In his second phase Lurker actually dives under water, and you can't target him. During this phase two kinds of naga spawn and swim toward the raid. The Coilfang Guardians are big melee mobs that cleave and do some nasty damage. Coilfang Ambushers are ranged mobs that can do a Scattershot.

Six Ambushers and three Guardians spawn; your raid needs to kill or sheep all of them. Depending on your DPS, you'll probably want to do something like sheep two of the Guardians, which have more HP, and kill everything else. Anything you sheep has to stay sheeped until it despawns; if you let the sheep break, it'll usually start one-shotting healers and lead to a wipe.
