BS:

Growing up as a young lad in Moonbrook, Halbe had an average life. A life not unlike those youths growing up in any of the other great alliance towns located in the land of Azeroth.

In his youth, he was a popular child, spending many a night in the fields by Sendel's Pond, running and playing with the other children of Moonbrook. They would spend hours on end swimming in the mucky waters of the lake. They would laugh with each other under the scorching heat of the sun as they combed the near-by beaches for hints of the Captains lost gold. They would even go as far as to see which of them was brave enough to actually pull on the tale of an angry Goretusk.

In the Spring of Halbe's 18th year, his father requested that he deliver a package for him to the city of Lakeshire. This package, as his father told him, was of great value, and he needed to send someone whom he could trust. Strangely, however, it was also requested of Halbe that he take his young sister, Charisa, with him. This was an odd request, for Charisa had never ventured outside of the city limits, much less a grand trip like it would be to Lakeshire.

Halbe finally caved into his fathers demands, and he took his young sibling with him.

The trip to Red Ridge was a rather uneventful one. Along the way, Halbe made many stops, to show his sister the wide array of things that she would never be exposed to in Moonbrook. In one such instance, Halbe had to apologize to a rather angry Gnome Mage, whom Charisa had playfully referred to as "A cute little Dolly".

After delivering the package and returning home, Halbe noticed that something was amiss. There was an unusual buzz in the air. It was a sense of urgency, accompanied with a large amount of fear.

As they entered the Westfall area, Halbe spotted a large smoke stack in the distance. Not the type of smoke that was let go during a bonfire or cookout, but something more. Something, different. Nervousness set in as Halbe quickly grabbed his sister, and began to sprint with her in his arms. At this point, even Charisa could understand the urgency of the situation. This was all overwhellming for a young child, yet Charisa fought back the tears, not wanting to be a bother to her brother.

They sprinted down the dirt road, passing soldiers and onlookers along the way. Various senarios played their course through Halbe's mind. He tried to tune them out, hoping that his fears would not come to fruition.

But they did..

The town was ablaze. Halbe took his sister to a nearby guard, who was helplessly looking on. By this time, Charisa had lost all restraint, sobbing uncontrolablly.

Halbe made a mad dash towards his home, hoping against hope that his father would still be alive. He ripped the sleave of his shirt, and promptly placed it over his mouth, hoping to screen some of the oncomming smoke. With a sharp kick, the door was knocked ajar, and a black cloud decented on him. Barely able to see, let alone breath, he ran into his home, screaming his fathers name as he entered. There was no response.

But there was no need for one.

In the corner of the home was his father, slumped in a pile. No movement, no breathing, no life. And beside him lay a red linen bandana...

Halbe waved good-bye to his sister as he left the orphanage in Stormwind. He knew he would be unable to care for her. Unable to protect her.

As the tears well-up in his eyes, he turned from his sisters crying face. She grabbed his hand as he tried to pull away, in one last attempt to convince him to stay. Or, at the very least, to take her with him. He turned again, smiled, and hugged her warmly. And with that, he left...

He was alone now. For the first time in his life, alone. He had no money, no food, no possessions, except one, a red linen bandana.

Thanks.

This is my first attempt at anything like this. Plus, it was done in kind of a rush at work (Couldn't let the boss see :0)

I'm looking forward to this new server. Could be something good.
