View Full Version : The Frozen Inn (RP-PvP Community)

For those of you checking out this forum, here is my original post that was on the worldofwarcraft.com forum.
__________________________________________________________________________
If you are migrating to the PvPRP server at launch, read with an open mind. :)

Website: http://tfi.wowguru.com/

This community is a home for anyone... If you are new to RP, do not! DO NOT worry, we welcome new comers as well. I am new to RP and I think this will be very exciting and new. There will be options in guild chat to talk out of character and this format is still being decided. IT will either be your text in (this format) or a totally different chat channel created for OOC.

Read the following goals I have for tis community and throughout this thread you will see updates on future plans such as protection, in community economy,. trade system, point system based on RP and activities for casual players and also raid points for others.

My Goal:

(Raserei, a character who originated from D2... struggled with the community during the ladder reset, he strived to form his own unique community, not a guild. What was formed was by far the most fun I ever had in D2 while it lasted. "The Frozen Inn" was created, had our forums, D2 channel and channel Mod (AI) to boot spammers, we formed a well known community where inside, you were part of a group of friends and trading with no scammers involved, and non-rush gameplay. We ventured through all acts and experienced the game in its true form. As the months pasted, it slowly diminished as world of warcraft entered the gaming world. Record numbers of 200+ members of the Frozen Inn were registered to our forums and we had 3 full channels on D2.

What I am getting at, is that I want to bring this characters goals to wow. The Role-Play community is suffering from non-RP players ruining the environment. I want to help form a community (in the form of a guild) that will bring light to this new ruleset. As a former EQ/Daoc/L2 player, I have experience with this game along with guild qualities but I don't want to make a guild. True as it may be, the tag will be in guild form, but my goals are to form a community that works together, ventures together and dies together and in this case, for the alliance!

Each character in this community will have a character backstory that they can share at our weekly gatherings in the Cathedral in SW. Unity beyond all will unite us with a sense of family or in what I like to call, "Community". Weekly gatherings will be scheduled beforehand. These gatherings will plan events during the week at times that people can play.

Whether it be treasure hunting, adventuring, questing, dungeon crawling, or pvp, we will all join forces and make it happen.)

I'm looking for people who think this is a good idea and will help with this cause. I am very dedicated right now in trying to get this to happen but with any community it needs people.

There are no leaders in this community. Everyone is equal and treated as an individual character. Gatherings will be agreed upon everyone who is present and will be discussed. Any event you have in mind can be brought up at these gatherings.

I will be organizing the alliance side where (AIM: Lucian 5000 will be doing horde) Please read ahead for info and post your characters details afterwards. :)

Also for clarification this will be a guild formed off the bat but will be a community and be treated like one. No leaders we are all family/friends and we will adventure together and explore the World of Warcraft. :)

If you are interested in this please contact me on AIM or email.)

*Name of community unknown (TBA after discussion with the people interested)

AIM: lclericl

Email: tableclown@hotmail.com

If you are interested in joining the horde on the server we join, contact Lucian 5000 on AIM! I see a bunch of horde posting but didn't contact him yet!

It will be very important to keep checking to see if Blizzard announces the servers so we can all decide what we are joining!

Both sides have a large number of people in it so don't worry what you pick. DO what you want to do and pick the race and class you like playing. Never pick a class just because someone needs it. It will benefit your fun value later if you choose a class you enjoy. :)

We have a basic website setup already and soon to have forums. We have a large teamspeak server and horde and alliance will be sharing it and it will contain multiple channels.

If you are interested, EVEN IF YOU ARE NEW TO RP! Feel free to message me on AIM: lclericl and I will explain everything soon enough! May this be the best community created and let it change the way we think about the game. Working together is how these games get there replay value! Join us and experience something new and exciting! =)

New Ideas! UPDATE #1

Protection System! Later on down the road there will be ganking and yes it's a pvprp server so it's what they are supposed to do if they see opposing factions! BUT! What are we going to do about it?

If you are ganked once, that is normal.
If you get killed twice by the same guy and he camps you, ohhh boy do I not want to be this guy! You will then say his name in Guild Chat and his name will be added to our Bounty List on our website! (Website being worked on as we speak!) Not only will we help you and hunt him down and make his life miserable! But we will add him to the bounty list and later down the road we will host bounty events! (More info soon)

2.) World defense! This will become a lareg part of my game later down the road! It's a very important part of the game and lots of people never use it or completely block this channel! Levels 50+ people start raiding towns and zones and it becmes a problem! If we want our faction to strive we must protect it and with huge force! Although everything in this community is optional just like any neighborhood event is optional, you will never be required to be anywhere or do anything but the options will be there! Hence the community we have here!

Let me tell you a story of my last server. I had an orc hunter! Name was Raserei when the firetree server came out! My guild was doing 10-man Deadmines runs and we decided to go to redridge!

After numerous deaths of the alliance, the word spread and man did they bring a retaliation!

We moved to the elite orc camp across the bridge to seek a safe area but boy were we in for a suprise!

The bridge is what separated 15 of us and 45+ of them! We all stood our ground and declared this "The Battle of RR Part I".

Me being the only hunter and there were only 2 mages, we managed to take out 5 of them before they charged the bridge! The fight lasted around 3 or 4 minutes and the shock value was put into the alliance! 15 of us and 45+ of them and we killed half there forces! It was a miracle but we ended up dying! The memories of that battle motivates meto bring more wars like this to the game and in larger numbers! There will be huge raids planned and lots of wars such as this... Never any pointless random ganking! Actual themed (RP) wars, such as we took over the Elite Orc tower and they came and took it back... We can take certain areas of maps where horde is very populated and try and keep it as long as possible! It brings a more war sense to the battle. I wish I recorded that Redridge battle!

UPDATE! #2

The Auction House
__________________________________________________

Any green BoE item you plan on putting in the auction house make sure you do not overprice it! If we all do this, it will benefit the economy in the long run! So we never see level 10 or less greens for 70s or more. Thats ridiculous. I've seen servers where a Severing Axe went for 50s... How can a new player afford that?

In order to keep the AH reasonable and farmer free, prices should be made at a reasonable level!

Also, any BLUE or PURPLE item should be sold within the community. This does not mean you have to give a discount! But it also means you do not overprice a blue or purple because you are excited. Be reasonable so that this benefits everyone in the long run. Money is never an issue... Mounts are never that difficult to come by with friends.

Loans can be given and must be paid back eventually! Later on, loans will give you community points which I will talk about in a sec.

So basically, if we work together and prevent AH prices to skyrocket, in the long run, the AH will be a more enjoyable place to shop! Casual player shouldn't suffer because you know you can get 1g for a level 10 green.

The Community Rules

The rules shouldn't really be called rules more like guielines!

Guild chat is ROLE PLAY ONLY!

You can chat Out of character in the guilds OOC channel. Just type: /join FrozenInnOOC

That is the official TFI OOC channel. There you can chat however you want.

Be mature and professional at all times unless your character is a 12 year old... Then you can talk like one haha.

Any general, trade, or default WoW channel, be respectful and never chat OOC there. If someone asks for help, help them, that way people learn more about us.

If there is ever an issue with 2 players in the community, I need to be contacted or settle it inside and people who aren't heated by anger can help you 2 love birds to settle the issue in a mature fashion. We are all big boys! (Toys R' US is over ) :(

The "Uber" Chat

If you are ever seen saying anything about how the Frozen Inn is a leet or uber guild or is better than everyone, you will be removed.

In NO WAY are we better than anyone or even a guild for that matter. I will form the guild called "The Frozen Inn" when we are in the game but we are treating it as a community. We are never better or more advanced than anyone.

We are all just people who enjoy MMORPG's and want to be part of a enjoyable community. Everyone is welcome and it should remain that way.

The Frozen Inn' reputation should be a respectable and a professional image to others.

__________________________________________________

Glad too see both sides increasing! Alliance and Horde are both skyrocketting with members!

Remember to choose your faction, race, class on somethign you want to play and not something that is needed. This server will be 50/50 balanced! There is nothing to worry about, so choose accordingly.

Thank you for your interest in this idea!

For those of you wondering, yes, this will be a guild. I was hoping for this to be one guild on each side but I see a number of people trying to already form there own. Maybe I just wasn't too clear in what I wrote and I apologize, but I believe I will be creating the guild named "The Frozen Inn" as soon as the server starts. I have around 150 people on my aim from alliance along with 30 or so emails. I bet only 20-30 people look at these forums so far so don't be startled by the population here.

So what your saying is no one should gank... But if someone does we will gank them.

=/

We should set the example. Ganking is bad SO DON'T DO IT. Bounty list? Make his life miserable? Wow, that's not cool man. I have no wish to make anyones life miserable as do most players here.

Please revise this to better suit the community. =/ Ganking and griefing should NOT be part of The Frozen Inn.

No thats not what hes saying

Hes saying that if someone ganks you and repeatedly camps your body and ganking you, not allowing you to do anything else. THEN you get put on the list

HAIL NO! We are at war! The Horde must be killed at all costs, but corpse camping is rude. But I will not enforce any such rule. I have yet to determine my characters role, whether he will be merciful or ruthless.

Still, griefing is not something that helps a community gain standing these days.

I suppose if you play it out as RP, then fine. Also - if you're ganked I see no reason to not have friends kill that person. But if this in any way is here for the purpose of "making someones life miserable" and griefing then I want no part of it.

Also, the potential for abusing this kind of thing is high...
