Today, for a reason unkown to me my computer started to just freeze up causing me to have to manually reboot my computer. It first happend when I was playing WoW, for some reason, all of a sudden my computer just froze so I had to reboot. I reconected to WoW and the same thing happend. I did this 4 times before I gave up. When I went to go play Counter-Strike the same thing happend, once I started my comp just froze. At first it only seemed to be doing it while playing games but then I tried to scan my computer for viruses and the same thing happend everytime, computer would just freeze up. I have no idea what is causing this to happen so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It's hard to tell with that little amount of information, but it sounds as if you're running out of system resources. Unless you've got a gig+ of RAM, I'd suggest turning off some things like AIM, MSN, etc. Anything that runs in the background. Also, try getting CCleaner (not sure on the site right now, look it up) to clean up your registry. And don't forget Anti-Spyware programs, those are a necessity. I use Ad-aware and Spybot. :Sheriff:
I don't really like saying this, but maybe use your system restore disk? I'm not really a fan of using it myself, but sometimes you just gotta suck up your pride when nothing else works.

Ok, I have found out some more things. Apparently my comp will freeze when scanning the C:\WINDOWS folder. I originally thought that it was freezing after 4min 50 seconds of scanning but that is actually how long it took to get to the folder Driver Cache. When I scanned every thing in the C:\WINDOWS folder except for the Driver Cache folder it wouldn't freeze. So, I believe the problem is in the Driver Cache folder which is in the C:\WINDOWS folder. I do not believe it is a virus however because I can scan that folder by itself fine without my computer freezing. Hope that helps

Sounds like a corrupt file....trying booting up in safe mode and see if that works (do a viris scan or somthing that made it lock up before) if it does do a system restore to a date in witch it was working. Hit F8 on the boot screen and follow the prompts from there to boot into safe mode, if you didn't know already.
Hope that helps =\
System Restore to before it started... that always works when in a pinch!
