I have a problem with CTA, when I host a group, it keeps flooding the CTAChannel with an announce message, just like the one we can manually send on channels..
Am I using it wrong or is this a problem with the new patch?
probly what's happening is you check marked the channel to display messages.
simply right-click the tab on your chat window to get the menu... select one of the pul-out menus i think should be called Channels and make sure there is NO checkmark beside CTAChannel
once you do that it should stop showing even after relogging.
Nope, I tried that and it doesn't fix the problem. I've asked several people to test it with me and they have the same problem. The message is sent 3 times each minutes and when I host I get tells from players cause it floods the channel.
well, then the only thing i can thik of is it's a conflict with another mod...
I've never experienced the problem ur having or heard of it before... so i don't know what else i can tell ya. Perhaps list your mods (screenshot ur addons folder if you got lots)... and go from there.
I can confirm that this is still a problem with R10. I disabled all other add-ons, and tried both the "Flag myself as LFG" and "Manage my group" tabs. In both cases, the LFG messages went out immediately (before I'd even finished typing the text!), and repeated every 20 seconds until disabled. This means that other users of CTA will see a LFG message appear in the icon text 3 times per minute, even if they've unticked the channel itself for their chat windows.
I suspect that CTA is, in fact, attempting to send those LFG messages with no delay at all, but Blizzard's spam limit is letting one through "only" once every 20 seconds. The readme mentions, "Sometimes, CTA will automatically add certain players to the list if they spam the CTA channel." so now I'm also concerned that CTA's own spammy behavior will cause other players' CTA to blacklist my character.
This is a wonderful add-on, and has already saved my sanity by taking over the chore of filtering the global LFG channel. I'd like to be able to use the actual calling part of Call to Arms, but am happy to have a tool that lets me easily determine who else is LFG/M while I'm playing. Thanks for making that happen.
