  • Description
  • Change Log
It is recommended that you delete the KC_Items folder before installing this. All files names have changed, old files will not mess things up, but it will leave a lot of useless files.

Also note, if you install the full KC_Items on top of the one included in KC_EnhancedTrades you MUST overwrite all files. The TOC files are different and failure to do this will prevent all other modules from loading. This is also done because the full KC_Items requires the new AceGUI, where the minimal version required by KCET does not.

I've added a second dependency, which I'm aware will make some people upset. I have sound reasoning for this though.

1) I HATE coding in blizzards xml enviroment.
2) Making a GUI for a mod takes me more time than everything else put togather and is never what I want it to be.
3) AceGUI makes making a GUI enjoyable, quick, and lets me put out a higher quality product.

So AceGUI is now required for KC_Items .93 and higher, I'm sorry if this is a major turn off for some of my users, but frankly, I'm not willing to make GUI's without it and people want GUI's. So here is my best work, how I'm willing to do it.

Here is a link to where you can download AceGUI: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=4253

/end Notice

KC_Items has grown into a conglomerate of functionality that has still yet to reach its final destination. I release this as a early copy and is some extent a beta. However I think most people will find that there is some functionality that you may want.

I would like to mention that KC_Items is completely modular. If you don't want a certain functionality, you can just delete the corresponding sub folder and that functionality will just disappear. Keep in mind though that any modules/addons that depend on a deleted module will not get loaded either.

The following modules are currently implemented in the new beta.

-- Core: The heart of KC_Items if this goes it all should go.
-- Auction: A auction scanner, price average, ect..
-- AuctionBroker: Provides advance Autofill of data, one click item listing, and more coming soon.
-- Bank: Provides bank data retention for other mods.
-- Inventory: Provides inventory data retention for other mods.
-- SellValue: Will store vendor buy and sell values and display them on the tooltip.
-- LinkView: Displays a list of links regarding the items in the central database.
-- Linknet: Provides active Link collection.
-- TooltipHooker: Manages tooltip data.

The following modules will be coming or returning soon:

-- Rundown: Will spit out the location/quantity of matching items.
-- Optimzer: Provides data importion from similar mods.
-- ItemInfo: Provides more extensive item information.

A couple of notes and highlites about KC_Items.

NOTE: Bank and Inventory don't do anyhing by themselves but they are building blocks for other modules and addons.
NOTE: Its not finished yet, and a lot more is planned.
NOTE: LinkView will NEVER disconnect you for browsing the linkview pane. To do this I just don't show invalid items. You can see how many items are not being shown in LinkView by looking at the two numbers in the LinkView pane's header.
NOTE: 21463 items and 15955 sellvalues can be stored in aprox. 650kb. Roughly 40% of what IM would store for equivilent data.
NOTE: Left Clicking it brings it up in the stable tooltip, shift left click gives you a chat link and control left click brings up the dressing room.
NOTE: KC_EnhancedTrades users should just copy this right on top of their old copy, but its not required.
NOTE: There is a master database availalbe with 21463 items and 15955 sellvalues.

Please give feedback, I want to get KC_Items up to a mature level soon so I can get to work on some of the other works.

A full help system for what options are available are in game via /kci ? <command>.

And as always don't hesitate to ask many many questions.

Lastly I'd like to put out a thanks to all the authors of the various types of mods I've looked at and used while desigining this, these include but are not limited too. Lootlink, ItemsMatrix, Auctioneer, SellValue, Packrat, and many more that have influenced this work.

Coming Soon

BidBroker type features, Adv search for linkview, and more options, give me suggestions, even if you have before I'm guilty of forgetting things.

Always a wave of features when new folks. This isn't so much a feature as a usability point. I never, NEVER need any of the items that pop up on the first page when I search (first time). However, I have to wait for the 2s interface lock for it to populate it with that search.

My suggestion would be to start with an empty window. Let an "empty" search populate all items if the user wants that.

Now for the feature request: show the last search result each time the window is opened.

Thanks.

Any hope of adding the display to use the traditional gold/silver/copper coins as opposed to the colored numbers? Or at least an option? Please...?

Thanks.

if you leave auctioneer enabled one time when you load KCI it should import the data from it. make sure you grab Ace too as this is dependent on Ace.

Hey man. Well i Used to have auctioneer. I disabled it when i picked this babey up. Never deleted it just turned it off. And so far this isnt working. I enjoyed the whole tooltip thing auctioneer showed. And ooking at the screenshot's i assumed this had the same tooltip. with more stuff on it. But it's not working. The only other addon i have is UUI compilation. i dont think the two are messing with each other so, Help me out here. If you can e-mail me at Mccat9@yahoo.com hopefully you can help me.

Aha found the problem. Ace accidently had an tab replacing a single space in the char.id so when the data was saved it was unloadable by rundown.

I didn't appear to have this problem since I still had the old char id's info too.

So to fix:

DL the new ace. install ace and then type:
/kci inventory clear
/kci bank clear

That will get rid of the bad. visit the bank and move an item in your inventory and you'll be good to go.
