April 6, 2006 - 10:11 am [ Reply ]Alright,. After reviewing your comment mrobi, I finally figured out why so many people were having trouble installing this. I have updated the install instructions on this page to something a bit more useful.
The issue was this: I had instructed folks to rename their old Interface folder, then didn't have any way for them to make a new Interface folder in which to install the files. So, thanks to mrobi, I figured out that folks must be putting all my addons into the Interface-old folder, not a new Interface folder, and destroying any possibility of the addons working. This has been changed.

April 6, 2006 - 8:30 am [ Reply ]EDIT TO PREVIOUS POST
I was able to get CTRaid assist to work.
I removed all the addons and just strated from scratch. The Basisc UI files have been extracted to my desktop, and I just need to know what to do from here so I do not make the same mistake again.

April 6, 2006 - 8:23 am [ Reply ]Ill start off by saying that this is my first attempt at trying an addon so if I come across as a noob, well its because I am. Ok I downloaded CTRaid assist earlier, extracted pasted and ran WoW boom I had an addon, good news. The I got a lil greedy and also downloaded the BasicUI and did the as the instructed above made the Interface folder Interface old, and extarcted and pasted as I did previously and now not only do I not have the Basic UI but I also do not have the CTRaid assist any longer. There is now a folder called "Interface" as well as "Interface-old" in WoW folder.
What should I do?
Thnx

March 30, 2006 - 4:17 pm [ Reply ]To all who are using this UI or are looking forward to using it, be warned. I have done extensive revisions to the UI that I use at home, and as a result, it looks very different now than the description of this addon would lead you to believe.
However, in a week or 2 I should be able to get a new copy uploaded, along with an updated set of instructions on install. I intend to include a quick reference list of which addons drastically change the UI and should be disabled from the Character screen to preserve your WoW UI.
Maybe I'll be able to finaly get some great screens in here, too.
To those that are having trouble with WeaponStanceSets, I have started using a version of this mod that hooks to Titan Panel (my favorite set of addons) and has a very simple click open, drap and drop interface. You should all find this easier to use.
To those that are having problems installing the UI:
Please note that your folders should look like this:
c:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\ (all of the Addons Folders listed here)
I understand that WoWGuru changes the way the zip file unzips from what it was when I build it, so hopefully this helps.

January 18, 2006 - 11:54 pm [ Reply ]Bosnoval, are you talking about the CT_raid bar on the side that shows all the party as little bars???
If so, the only way I know how to turn it off is by turning that part of the mod off in the loggin menu under addons, CT raid assist
And does anyone know how to use the Weapon stance set mod???

January 16, 2006 - 11:27 pm [ Reply ]UI / mod newb here...
How do I get rid of the redundant health meter menu. It’s neat to have the percentage health meters and all but not when the original group menu is running too.

December 2, 2005 - 9:50 am [ Reply ]That would have been AutoDecline. The mod's options window can be accesed by /ad. Unfortunately, it doesn't work as well as I'd like, so it will not reappear in later versions. You can, if you wish, simply delete the folder for this addon in your Addons folder, within the Interface Folder, within the WoW folder.

December 2, 2005 - 3:05 am [ Reply ]I had at problem when someone invited me to a raid in a battleground. The normal accept or decline window didn't popup, so i couldn't accept the invite. But the "you where invited to..." did apear in the combat text window. What could solve this problem?

1.-Scroll chat by mousewheel is not working.
A. I'll take a look at that. My fiance uses this feature heavily, so I'm surprised she didn't tell me it's glitching.
2.-A box with my char and pet appears on left side (top of chat) with green bars. Clicking on it brings this msg:
Interface\AddOns\CT_RaidAssist\CT_RADetectSpells.l ua:48 Usage: TargetUnit("unit")
A. That box is the SqueakyWheel addon, it shouldn't be giving errors like that, and depending on your class, you might want to just turn it off. "/squeak help" should give a list of options. Shift-click the border to move the window around. Check the Readme file in that addon's folder for more info.
As for the error coming up when you click on it... it's clearly something that's happening as a result of how it's interacting with CT_RaidAssist mod. As to why, I can't say. I'll have to see if SqueakyWheel is supposed to be interacting with CT_RaidAssist.
One point i can make is that SqueakyWheel is there as a better health tracking mod than the Emergency Monitor built into CT_RaidAssist. So perhaps shutting the Emergency Monitor off completely will fix that problem.
3.-Mentioned as removed GuildEventManager, AuctionSort and CallToArms. Good AddOns. Re-evaluate to add in future release.
Hope the above helps.
A. AustionSort was removed because AuctionFilterPlus added AuctionSort capabilities to their mod, making AuctionSort unnecessary. GuildEventManager and CallToArms are not used on my server to any significant extant, and they add more things to the minimap, which I am trying to reduce. As a result, they will not be in further releases.
However, if they are necessary to your gameplay experience you may download these addons from curse-gaming.com or wowguru.com and place them in the addon folder. That is basically what I do to make changes to the BasicUI package, since I don't write any code.
I wish I could put the 2-bar version of the Titan Panel back in, but I have to wait for the actual code writers to fix their mods so that they don't create so many errors and bugs. A bit frustrating for me, but I'm managing so far.
Thanks for using BasicUI, all of you!

November 11, 2005 - 11:17 am [ Reply ]One suggestion for this.
Add MoveAnything. I <3 that mod. It can be sorta buggy, causing the game's exit functions to not work, but if that's the case, just delete the WTF and WTB folders in the WoW directory on your comp and it should work fine after that point. Otherwise this looks like a really solid compilation that cuts out a lot of the superfluous crap. Nicely done. ^^v
